India completes 100 electric bus export to Mauritius

Switch Mobility, an electric bus manufacturer under the Hinduja Group, has completed the delivery of 100 electric buses to the Government of Mauritius. The shipment is being described as the largest electric bus export from India to date and highlights growing cooperation between the two countries in sustainable transport.

The final batch of 90 buses was formally handed over during a high-level ceremony attended by India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Mauritius Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, along with senior officials from both governments.

Government-to-government electric bus arrangement

The export has been executed under a government-to-government framework aimed at strengthening public transport infrastructure in Mauritius. The buses were procured through an open tender process conducted by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL).

The initiative was structured as a donation from the Government of India, reinforcing diplomatic and environmental collaboration between the two nations.
