Mahindra Restructures Sales Leadership Names Malik Kurup

Mahindra & Mahindra has undertaken a major restructuring of its automotive sales and marketing setup, appointing Aman Malik as National Sales Head and assigning Dinesh Kurup to lead sales planning. The move comes after Baneswar Banerjee transitioned to the group’s financial services arm, prompting a strategic realignment within the organisation.

Instead of a direct replacement, the company has split the earlier role to clearly separate frontline execution from backend planning functions, aiming to improve efficiency and responsiveness.

Mahindra splits sales and planning roles for sharper execution

As part of the restructuring, Aman Malik has been appointed as Senior General Manager and National Sales Head for the automotive division. He will oversee nationwide sales operations, with zonal heads reporting directly to him. His primary focus will be on driving volumes and strengthening on ground execution.

Dinesh Kurup, also designated as Senior General Manager, will lead sales planning and support. His role brings together key functions such as planning, logistics, and channel finance under a more structured framework. This separation ensures better coordination between execution and strategic planning.

Leadership reshuffle strengthens Mahindra sales strategy

Both Aman Malik and Dinesh Kurup will report to Pavan Kumar, Senior Vice President for Sales, Customer Care and CX. Under his leadership, Mahindra has consolidated multiple commercial functions, including fleet operations, new business initiatives, and business analytics, into a unified structure.

The restructuring reflects a broader effort to streamline decision making and improve operational agility in a competitive market environment.

Experienced leaders take charge of key roles

Aman Malik brings over 25 years of experience within Mahindra, including more than two decades in the farm division across different regions. In his previous role as Zonal Head, he delivered strong revenue growth and achieved record sales volumes. His experience is expected to strengthen field level execution.

Dinesh Kurup, on the other hand, will focus on enhancing backend efficiency by integrating planning and support functions. His role is critical in ensuring smoother coordination across the supply chain and sales network.

Mahindra aligns EV and customer functions with core operations

The restructuring also impacts Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited. Deepak Sinha, National Sales Head for the EV business, will now have a dotted line reporting to Pavan Kumar, while continuing to report to Reeti Nageshri for strategy and operations.

This adjustment integrates the EV business more closely with the core sales ecosystem without affecting its independent structure. Additionally, customer experience functions have been aligned more closely with field operations to enable faster feedback and improved service delivery.

The company has also strengthened its leadership team with recent additions like Charu Gulati, who joined from Tata Motors and is part of the central sales and customer function.
