From Corporate Burnout to Self-Discovery: Rakesh’s Journey

Rakesh once had what many would consider a dream career. Starting with a leading technology company and later moving to major banks and computer firms, he earned a high salary and enjoyed professional recognition.

Yet, despite financial stability and career achievements, he felt unfulfilled and disconnected.

The Struggles Behind Success

Rakesh realized that the corporate world, while lucrative, came at a high emotional cost. He felt pressured to please others and gradually lost touch with his own needs.

Long hours and demanding environments left him emotionally drained. Personal challenges, including strained relationships with his father and difficulties in his marriage, affected his mental health.

He battled anxiety and depression, spending long periods in hospitals and taking antidepressants.

Rakesh recalled, “I would sit for hours thinking about the same thing again and again. I had almost stopped going out.” The combination of professional and personal pressures led him to question the purpose of his life.

Taking Control and Rebuilding Life

Determined to reclaim his sense of self, Rakesh focused on both mental and physical wellbeing.

He studied psychology to better understand human behavior and the patterns he had experienced.

He improved his physical health through intermittent fasting, losing 15 kilograms, and trained in martial arts, including Muay Thai and Ju-Jitsu, earning a silver medal at a state-level competition.

Rakesh also embraced diverse jobs, working as a food delivery agent, bike taxi driver, and gym assistant, which helped him rebuild independence and dignity.

These efforts allowed him to reconnect with his passions and gain a renewed sense of confidence.

A New Chapter: Living Life on His Own Terms

Today, Rakesh drives an electric auto-rickshaw in Bengaluru while pursuing hobbies like dance and painting. His story emphasizes that true happiness comes from self-discovery rather than salary or status.

Overcoming challenges requires resilience and a willingness to embrace new experiences. Rakesh’s journey serves as a reminder that personal fulfillment often lies outside conventional definitions of success.
