Future Autotech Secures CMVR Certification for FUTURA 12M
Bhopal-based electric bus manufacturer Future Autotech Global Ventures Pvt. Ltd. has achieved a major milestone with CMVR certification for its 12-metre electric sleeper-seater bus, the FUTURA 12M. This approval allows the company to deploy the vehicle commercially in India, aligning with national regulatory standards and enhancing operational safety. The certification underscores the company’s commitment to efficient and sustainable mobility solutions.
Alongside CMVR approval, the FUTURA 12M has also received AIS 052, AIS 119, and AIS 153 certifications, covering sleeper, seater, and hybrid configurations, demonstrating adherence to modern safety and design standards for long-distance bus operations.
FUTURA 12M Features and Performance
The FUTURA 12M is powered by a 422 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed range of 350–370 km per charge. It also supports fast-charging, with a full charge achievable in 45–60 minutes, helping fleet operators maximize uptime and efficiency.
Sleeper-Seater Comfort
The bus features a sleeper-seater configuration designed for intercity and long-haul routes. This setup aims to enhance passenger comfort, addressing rising expectations for long-distance travel while encouraging the adoption of electric mobility in India’s transport sector.
Operational Efficiency
Fast charging and extended range enable operators to optimize fleet usage, reduce downtime, and lower dependence on diesel fuel. These advantages position the FUTURA 12M as a viable option for both public and private transport operators aiming to cut operating costs and meet sustainability targets.
Regulatory Support and Industry Context
The certification milestone arrives at a time when India’s bus segment is increasingly shifting toward electrification. Rising fuel costs, stricter emission norms, and supportive government policies are motivating operators to explore electric alternatives.
Future Autotech’s regulatory approvals ensure that the FUTURA 12M meets stringent national safety standards while also preparing the company for future expansion in the electric commercial vehicle segment.
Future Plans and Market Outlook
Future Autotech plans to broaden its portfolio with 7–9 metre electric buses for urban and intercity routes. By combining advanced EV technology with regulatory compliance, the company aims to meet growing demand for electric buses across India.
Founder and CMD Deepak Verma said, “We envision a cleaner, smarter India powered by electric mobility. Our advanced EV buses aim to solve operational challenges, reduce diesel dependence, and contribute to transforming public transport into a sustainable ecosystem.”
With approvals in place and expansion strategies underway, Future Autotech is positioning itself as a key player in India’s emerging electric bus market.
