Tata Motors has received cumulative orders for more than 5,000 buses and bus chassis from various State Transport Undertakings (STUs) across India. The orders span Maharashtra, Gujarat, North Western Karnataka, Telangana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Kerala, Haryana, and Chandigarh, reinforcing the company’s dominant position in the public transport segment.

The procurement forms part of ongoing efforts by state transport agencies to expand and modernize their fleets to meet rising passenger demand across urban and intercity routes.

Mix of Fully Built Buses and Chassis Models

The orders include a combination of fully built buses and chassis variants designed for diverse public transport applications. Tata Motors’ portfolio for this order comprises:

  • Cityride and Starbus models for city bus operations
  • Starbus Prime and Magna for intercity and staff transport
  • Chassis variants LPO 1618, LPO 1622, and LPO 1822 for custom bus builds
