SANY India Concludes All-Women Excavator Training with IESC Certification

SANY India has successfully completed the first all-women excavator operator training batch at the National Academy of Construction (NAC) in Andhra Pradesh. The batch of 22 women graduated in March 2026, coinciding with International Women’s Day. This initiative is part of SANY India’s efforts to promote gender inclusion and skill development in India’s construction equipment sector.

Training Programme on SANY SY120 Excavator

The training included hands-on learning using the SANY SY120 excavator. SANY India developed the syllabus to reflect international operational practices and industry standards. NAC trainers were trained and certified by SANY India before the programme, ensuring that all sessions met global operational standards. The structured training emphasized practical skills, machine handling, and safety measures.

Certification and Placement Support

Upon completion, the trainees received certification under the Infrastructure Equipment Skill Council (IESC) framework. This recognised certification is expected to enhance employment opportunities in infrastructure and construction projects across India. Additionally, NAC will assist the trainees with placement support, helping them transition into operational, service, and technical roles within the construction equipment sector.

Applications and Career Opportunities

The training programme opens multiple career pathways for women in a traditionally male-dominated field. Graduates can now operate excavators in construction and infrastructure projects, manage equipment on-site, and pursue roles in sales, service engineering, or technical support within the sector. By combining practical skills with recognised certification, the initiative ensures that participants are industry-ready and able to meet professional standards in modern construction operations.

Industry Response and Event Highlights

Mr. Sanjay Saxena, COO of SANY India, commented, “True progress is inclusive. By empowering women with world-class skills, we are shaping careers and strengthening India’s construction ecosystem. This Women’s Day-aligned batch symbolizes opportunity, confidence, and capability.”

The certificate handover ceremony took place on 6 March 2026 at NAC in Pulivendula, Kadapa district. Mr. Madhusudan Katragadda, Dealer Principal of Madhura Engineering Pvt. Ltd., handed over certificates to the graduates, applauding SANY India and NAC for this historic initiative. Mr. Rakesh Mekala, Assistant Director of NAC Kadapa, faculty, staff, and SANY India representatives were also present to celebrate the milestone.

Graduates Mark the Beginning of Careers

The graduating batch expressed pride and enthusiasm at the event, marking the start of their professional journeys. The programme demonstrates SANY India’s commitment to inclusive skill development, creating opportunities for women in construction equipment operations and reinforcing the importance of gender diversity in India’s infrastructure sector.
