BSRTC Launches 118 Special AC Buses for Holi and Eid

The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has launched 118 special air-conditioned buses to strengthen connectivity between Bihar, Delhi, and Haryana during the Holi and Eid 2026 festive period. These services will run for one month, from February 23 to March 23, catering to the surge in migrant passenger travel.

Of the total fleet, 67 buses are deployed on Bihar–Delhi routes, while 51 buses are allocated for Bihar–Haryana routes. Subsidised fares start at ₹1,007 for AC seater and go up to ₹2,255 for AC sleeper, depending on the route. The initiative provides relief to passengers and ensures affordable, comfortable travel.

Subsidised Fare Details

Key fares for Bihar–Delhi routes after subsidy include:

  • Patna → Delhi: AC Seater ₹1,254, AC Sleeper ₹1,893
  • Darbhanga → Delhi: AC Seater ₹1,190, AC Sleeper ₹1,796
  • Gaya → Delhi: AC Seater ₹1,158, AC Sleeper ₹1,747
  • Muzaffarpur → Delhi: AC Seater ₹1,121, AC Sleeper ₹1,692
  • Siwan → Delhi: AC Seater ₹1,007, AC Sleeper ₹1,520

The subsidy reduces fares significantly, such as ₹619 off Patna–Delhi seater and ₹919 off Patna–Delhi sleeper fares.

Deployment and Passenger Facilities

BSRTC has focused on high-migrant-density districts for deployment, including Patna, Darbhanga, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Siwan, and Kishanganj. The buses operate in both directions to balance passenger flow, while staggered departure times reduce congestion at terminals. Delhi-bound departures from Patna start at 11:30 AM, Gaya at 7:30 PM, and Muzaffarpur at 11:20 AM. Return services from Delhi are scheduled between 1:00 PM and 2:20 PM.

Haryana Connectivity

Fifty-one buses serve Bihar–Haryana routes, covering industrial hubs like Gurugram and Ambala. Key fares include:

  • Patna → Gurugram: AC Seater ₹1,093, AC Sleeper ₹1,649
  • Patna → Ambala: AC Seater ₹1,334, AC Sleeper ₹2,013

Fleet Features

The 118 AC buses offer long-distance comfort with AC seater and sleeper options, digital ticketing, multiple payment modes including UPI, and on-the-spot booking counters at district bus stands. This ensures that passengers without digital access can also secure seats.

By expanding regulated bus services and stabilising fares, BSRTC provides thousands of additional seats during the festive period, enhancing mobility, comfort, and affordability for migrant and interstate passengers.
