Mahindra Udo Launched in India at Rs 3,58,999: A New Benchmark in 3-Wheeler Mobility

Mahindra has officially launched its highly anticipated Udo 3-wheeler L5 rickshaw in India, designed specifically for urban and semi-urban passenger transport. Priced at an introductory Rs 3,58,999 (ex-showroom), the Udo is engineered to deliver superior performance, comfort, and safety while addressing the needs of last-mile mobility. Built on a modular platform, the vehicle is poised to support future applications, setting a new standard in the segment.

The Udo features 215 mm ground clearance and excellent gradeability, making it capable of handling rough roads and steep inclines with ease. It also comes in multiple colour schemes including yellow/black, grey/black, blue/black, and white/blue, providing buyers with a choice of stylish options.

Energy-Efficient Powertrain with Advanced Driving Modes

At the heart of the Mahindra Udo is an 11.7 kWh battery paired with a high-power permanent magnet synchronous motor, offering 10 kW peak power and 52 Nm torque. This powertrain delivers a certified real-world range of 265 km on a full charge.

The vehicle incorporates three driving modes—Range, Ride, and Race—allowing operators to optimise efficiency and performance depending on driving conditions. With a top speed of 55 kmph and 25.8% gradeability, the Udo is capable of tackling flyovers and steep slopes efficiently, enhancing trip turnaround times for business operators.

Safety and Operational Features

The Udo is equipped with a host of safety and convenience features, including a regenerative braking system, hill hold assist, creep mode, reverse throttle function, and multiple drive modes. The regenerative braking system reduces stopping distance by 11.2 meters, making it one of the safest in its class. Hill hold assist prevents rollbacks on steep inclines, while creep mode ensures safe low-speed driving in heavy traffic.

Mahindra has ensured that the Udo offers a comfortable experience for drivers and passengers. Standard and accessory features include a phone mount, USB charging ports, music system with speaker provision, rear charging socket, bottle holder, and storage compartments. The Mahindra Udo comes with an IP67-rated battery, drivetrain, motor controller, and off-board charger. It is backed by a 6-year or 1.5 lakh km standard warranty and free services up to 1 lakh km. Additionally, under the Uday NXT program, owners receive Rs 20 lakh in accidental insurance coverage.
