Yogi Reviews Road Infrastructure Progress Across Uttar Pradesh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday conducted a comprehensive review of road infrastructure projects underway across Uttar Pradesh, emphasising the strategic importance of a robust network of national and state highways. The review focused on updates regarding the widening and strengthening of existing roads to improve accessibility and connectivity throughout the state.

Progress Update on Key Road Projects

During the review, Yogi directed the chief secretary to hold periodic meetings assessing the progress of critical road projects. Senior officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) were instructed to participate in these discussions to highlight any issues delaying project completion. The aim is to ensure smooth execution of ongoing civil works and timely delivery of improved road infrastructure.

Addressing Land Acquisition Challenges

To expedite the widening of key road stretches, district magistrates were asked to conduct weekly meetings to resolve land acquisition issues within their jurisdictions. Yogi stressed the importance of direct engagement with the affected population and landowners, explicitly avoiding middlemen or brokers during negotiations. This approach is intended to foster transparency and trust between authorities and local communities.

Strengthening Community Engagement

Officials were instructed to maintain a proactive approach with local residents through regular visits, ensuring lingering issues are resolved efficiently. By building a trustworthy relationship with the community, the government aims to minimise delays in road development projects while maintaining goodwill among stakeholders.

Cost Estimates and Engineering Oversight

Senior engineers from the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (UPPWD) were directed to provide detailed estimates for land acquisition costs aligned with the timelines set by the NHAI. This ensures that financial planning and project execution remain on track, avoiding delays due to budgetary or administrative bottlenecks.

Improving Connectivity Across the State

With these measures, the UP government seeks to create a stronger, faster, and safer road network connecting urban and rural areas alike. The review underscores Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s commitment to infrastructure development, effective administration, and community-oriented governance in Uttar Pradesh.
