Designed as one of the company’s most advanced manufacturing facilities globally, the Lucknow plant will primarily produce electric buses. With an annual capacity of up to 5,000 vehicles, the factory emphasizes local employment, with most workers recruited from Uttar Pradesh and a significant proportion being women, promoting inclusive growth and sustainable job creation.

With modern technology and high automation, this plant reflects our focus on world-class quality, innovation, and future-ready electric buses.”

The Lucknow facility incorporates sustainable design features, including rooftop solar panels, energy-efficient LED lighting, battery-operated in-plant logistics, positive water balance practices, and a zero-discharge system. These initiatives support clean manufacturing while enabling skill development and long-term employment for the local workforce.

The new plant positions Ashok Leyland as a key enabler of India’s green mobility objectives, strengthening the company’s role in electric vehicle adoption in Uttar Pradesh and across the country. As EV demand grows, the facility is expected to play a pivotal role in building a cleaner, more efficient, and future-ready commercial transport ecosystem in India.
