Tata Ace Pro vs Jeeto Plus: Best Petrol Mini-Truck?
Small commercial vehicles continue to drive India’s last-mile delivery sector, and two petrol models dominate this competitive space: the Tata Ace Pro Petrol and the Mahindra Jeeto Plus Petrol. Both are engineered for businesses that depend on compact, manoeuvrable, and fuel-efficient vehicles for transporting parcels, water cans, FMCG items, and other light-to-medium cargo. But which of the two makes more sense for your business needs today? Here’s a detailed comparison.
Engine and Performance
Tata has equipped the Ace Pro Petrol with a 694 cc four-stroke engine paired with the company’s TA-59 4-speed manual gearbox. This setup produces 29.50 hp at 4000 rpm and a strong 55 Nm of torque in the 1750–2750 rpm band. The broad torque curve helps the vehicle pull heavier loads at low speeds—an important requirement for city deliveries, hilly routes, and stop-start operations.
Mahindra’s Jeeto Plus Petrol features a smaller 625 cc petrol motor mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. It generates 23.19 hp at 4000 rpm and 48 Nm of torque between 2000–2500 rpm. While not as powerful as the Ace Pro, the Jeeto Plus is tuned for higher fuel efficiency, offering a claimed 21.2 kmpl—making it attractive for businesses prioritising lower running costs.
In terms of power and torque, the Ace Pro Petrol has the advantage. In terms of mileage and fuel-tank volume (20 litres vs Tata’s 10 litres), the Jeeto Plus performs better.
Suspension and Ride Comfort
Both models use a McPherson strut setup at the front, which improves ride quality compared to leaf-spring systems found in older SCVs. At the rear, both vehicles use semi-trailing arm suspension, aimed at balancing comfort with moderate load-bearing capability. While semi-trailing arms aren’t designed for extreme loads, their geometry improves handling and stability under urban driving conditions. As a result, both vehicles offer a similar suspension feel.
Braking and Tyres
The trucks get disc brakes in front and drum brakes at the rear. On paper, Tata’s braking performance feels slightly stronger due to its tuning and component design, though Mahindra’s setup is also engineered for durability. Both trucks run on 145R12 tyres—compact yet rugged, suitable for narrow urban lanes and frequent U-turns.
Dimensions and Load Capacity
The Tata Ace Pro Petrol has a GVW of 1460 kg and delivers a payload of 750 kg. Its load body measures 2046 mm (L), 1485 mm (W) and 326 mm (H).
Mahindra’s Jeeto Plus Petrol comes with a GVW of 1450 kg and a payload of 715 kg. Its load body is longer and slightly wider—2257 mm (L), 1493 mm (W), though its height is lower at 300 mm.
In simple terms, Tata suits heavier cargo, while Mahindra suits bulkier but lighter goods.
Features, Pricing and Warranty
Tata offers features like a gear-shift advisor and reverse parking sensors, along with AIS-096 compliant cabin construction. Mahindra focuses on visibility-oriented features such as a sliding rear window and wider glass areas.
Price-wise, Tata Ace Pro Petrol starts at ₹3.99 lakh, while the Mahindra Jeeto Plus Petrol starts at ₹4.07 lakh.
Warranty differs too: Tata offers 2 years/72,000 km, while Mahindra provides 3 years/72,000 km.
Verdict
Choose the Tata Ace Pro Petrol if your business moves heavier loads and requires stronger torque performance.
Pick the Mahindra Jeeto Plus Petrol if your operations involve lightweight but high-volume goods and require maximum fuel efficiency.
Both remain dependable, purpose-built solutions backed by strong dealer and service networks.
