Eicher launches Pro X Diesel truck for last-mile growth

Eicher Trucks and Buses, the commercial vehicle division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), has expanded its next-generation small commercial vehicle portfolio with the launch of the new Eicher Pro X Diesel, designed to redefine last-mile logistics in India.

The launch follows the earlier debut of the Eicher Pro X EV at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. With the addition of a diesel-powered option, Eicher now caters to a broader base of customers and regions where diesel solutions remain crucial.

Backed by over four decades of industry leadership, the company said the new Pro X Diesel is a customer co-developed ‘expert’ solution crafted to deliver superior uptime, higher profitability, and easy ownership for small business owners, fleet operators, and first-time buyers alike.

At the heart of the truck is the all-new E449 X2 diesel engine, offering segment-leading fuel efficiency along with top-tier power and torque output. The Pro X Diesel also boasts the largest cargo deck in its class (10 feet 8 inches) and an extended service interval of 30,000 km, ensuring reduced maintenance downtime and lower operating costs.

Speaking at the launch, Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of VECV, said the new range marks a major stride toward reshaping India’s logistics ecosystem. “With the launch of the Eicher Pro X Diesel, we are taking another significant step in transforming last-mile logistics in India. The Pro X range — now available in both electric and diesel variants — embodies our commitment to smart, sustainable and efficient logistics solutions,” he said.

The new model has been tested extensively across India’s diverse terrains, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications — from farm-to-market transport and kirana deliveries to FMCG, e-commerce, and regional cargo movement.

The Pro X Diesel features a crash-test certified metallic cabin, ergonomic D+2 seating, daytime running lamps (DRL), and advanced telematics (My Eicher) that enable predictive diagnostics, remote immobilization, and real-time monitoring through a 24×7 uptime center.

Manufactured at Eicher’s Industry 4.0-enabled Bhopal plant — assembled entirely on an all-woman production line — the truck underscores the brand’s commitment to Make in India and inclusive growth.
