New Force Traveller Facelift Spotted Testing – Major Design & Interior Upgrades Revealed
Force Motors is gearing up to refresh its best-selling LCV, the Traveller, with a comprehensive facelift. The updated model was recently spied on test, showcasing redesigned exteriors and a revamped cabin. The Force Traveller, which dominates more than 65% of India’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment, is expected to bring noticeable improvements in comfort, safety, and styling across its passenger, school bus, and ambulance variants.
Fresh new look up front
Spy shots from automotive enthusiast Sonu Pathak reveal that the Traveller facelift carries a completely reworked front fascia. Gone are the older vertically stacked lamps—replaced by sleeker, horizontally oriented rectangular headlamps that are likely to feature LEDs with integrated turn indicators. The new front grille maintains the slatted design but sports a tougher, more modern look, while the bonnet design appears more sculpted and aerodynamic.
The side indicators have been downsized and now appear to use LED technology. At the rear, while the vertically stacked taillamp layout continues, the camouflaged bumper hints at subtle styling tweaks. These updates collectively give the vehicle a more premium and contemporary stance.
Refined and modern cabin
Inside, Force Motors appears to have invested considerable effort in creating a cleaner, more functional cockpit. Though the dashboard remains covered in camouflage, the contours suggest a clutter-free layout with redesigned central control buttons. The steering wheel has been slightly improved for better ergonomics, and the instrument features a circular design, replacing the older rectangular design.
The test mule seen was reportedly the Traveller 3700WB version, indicating that Force Motors may be testing multiple configurations before the final launch.
Engines and performance
The facelifted Traveller is expected to retain its tried-and-tested engine options. The diesel variants—available in configurations like 3050WB, 3350WB, 3700WB, 4020WB, and wider body versions—will continue using the 2.6-litre Mercedes-derived engine producing 114 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the CNG variants (available in 3700WB, 4020WB, and Wider Body 4020WB) deliver 102 hp and 310 Nm. Both powertrains are paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox equipped with a single-plate dry friction clutch.
Feature expectations and pricing
While the full feature list is yet to be confirmed, the facelift may include upgrades to passenger comfort and safety equipment. The current Force Traveller already offers ABS, EBD, disc brakes, and high-back recliner seats with armrests—all built on a monocoque chassis for reduced noise and vibration.
The existing model starts from Rs 14.18 lakh (ex-showroom), and the facelifted version could see a slight price bump upon launch. With its combination of reliability, efficiency, and practicality, the updated Force Traveller aims to maintain its dominance in India’s LCV space.
