ZF Strengthens India Operations: Andreas Moser Joins Board for Commercial Vehicle Solutions
In a major leadership reshuffle aimed at boosting operational efficiency and financial stability, ZF Friedrichshafen AG has appointed Andreas Moser to its Board of Management, where he will oversee Commercial Vehicle Solutions and Industrial Technology for the India region. The appointment will take effect on November 1, 2025.
The announcement came following a meeting of ZF’s Supervisory Board on October 23, 2025. With this move, the company’s Group Board will now comprise five members, down from six, marking a strategic step toward streamlined governance and sharper business focus.
Moser, who has spent over three decades with ZF, previously led the company’s Industrial Technology Division. His new role is expected to strengthen the group’s presence in India — a key market for commercial vehicle innovation and electrification. ZF stated that the changes reflect its broader goal of enhancing profitability and maintaining long-term financial resilience.
In parallel, Sebastian Schmitt has been appointed as the new Head of Electrified Powertrain Technology. The division will consolidate ZF’s conventional, hybrid, and electric passenger car drivetrains under one leadership. Chief Executive Officer Mathias Miedreich will continue to oversee the company’s E Division at the Board level.
Dr. Rolf Breidenbach, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, highlighted the importance of clarity and continuity in the company’s management following these appointments. “In Andreas Moser, we’ve found a Board member with over 30 years of experience, much of it in leadership roles within Commercial Vehicle Solutions and Industrial Technology. His deep understanding of ZF’s operations ensures competence and stability as the company navigates its next phase of growth,” Breidenbach stated.
Echoing similar sentiments, CEO Mathias Miedreich said, “With this new Management Board, we have a strong and highly capable leadership team that will successfully guide ZF into the future.”
Moser’s journey at ZF began in 1992. Over the years, he has held several senior roles across business unit management and sales in the Commercial Vehicle Solutions division. He took charge of the unit in 2020 and later, in April 2021, assumed leadership of the Industrial Technology Division at Passau.
Headquartered in Friedrichshafen, Germany, ZF is a global technology company offering advanced mobility systems for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and industrial applications. With a workforce of approximately 161,600 employees and 161 production facilities across 30 countries, the company reported revenues of €41.4 billion in fiscal 2024. ZF’s focus on electrification and innovation continues to drive its mission of reducing emissions, enhancing safety, and promoting sustainable mobility worldwide.
