Sany Accelerates Global Electric Truck Expansion, Eyes India and Europe

Sany, one of China’s leading heavy equipment manufacturers, is making significant inroads into the global electric truck market, highlighting the growing influence of Chinese automakers worldwide. In 2025, the company is projected to sell around 30,000 electric trucks, primarily in China, while also ramping up international operations in markets such as India, the Middle East, and Europe.

Strategic Global Moves

In September 2025, Sany delivered its first batch of 20 heavy-duty electric trucks to SG Green Logistics, marking its formal entry into India’s commercial vehicle sector. The company is also gearing up for the launch of its e263 4×2 electric truck in Europe, with deliveries scheduled to start in early 2026. These trucks feature advanced technologies, including a 636 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery, an 800V platform, a 500 km range at full 42-ton load, and compatibility with fast and future megawatt charging infrastructure.

In the Middle East, Sany unveiled a fleet of electric trucks at the 2025 Mobility Live event in Dubai, reflecting its strategy to adapt vehicles to local requirements while supporting the global shift toward sustainable transport.

Market Trends and Impact

China’s domestic electric truck market is booming, with battery-electric heavy trucks capturing nearly 22% of sales in the first half of 2025, a sharp increase from 8.6% in the previous year. Industry analysts expect electric trucks to account for 50–80% of new heavy-duty truck sales in China by 2028, driven by cost efficiencies and expanding charging infrastructure. As diesel truck demand declines, Sany is strategically positioned to capitalize on the transition toward electrification, both at home and abroad.

Focus on Service and Support

To ensure strong after-sales service overseas, Sany has partnered with local service providers. In Europe, for example, Putzmeister and the Alltrucks network will deliver maintenance, rapid parts supply, and remote diagnostics. This focus on service infrastructure underscores the company’s holistic approach to fleet deployment and customer satisfaction.

Outlook

With the global electric truck market expected to grow from $4 billion in 2024 to nearly $6 billion by the end of 2025, Sany’s international expansion highlights China’s growing dominance in the EV sector. The company’s global strategy reflects rising demand for cost-effective, clean, and technologically advanced transportation solutions across commercial sectors.
