Tata Motors to Pass on Full GST Benefits, Prices Drop Across Commercial Vehicle Range

Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has announced that it will fully transfer the benefits of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reduction to its customers. The revised prices will take effect from September 22, 2025, when the lower GST rate on commercial vehicles officially comes into force.

Lower Costs, Higher Efficiency for Businesses

Commercial vehicles form the backbone of India’s economy, driving trade, logistics, and connectivity. By extending the GST benefit directly to customers, Tata Motors aims to make fleet ownership more affordable and encourage faster adoption of newer, cleaner, and more efficient vehicles. This move is expected to lower the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for transporters, fleet operators, and small business owners, ultimately boosting profitability and operational efficiency.

Price Reductions Across Segments

Depending on the vehicle category, customers will see price reductions ranging from ₹30,000 to over ₹4.65 lakh. The revised price benefits are as follows:

• Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCVs): ₹2.8 lakh – ₹4.65 lakh
• Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles (ILMCVs): ₹1 lakh – ₹3 lakh
• Buses & Vans: ₹1.2 lakh – ₹4.35 lakh
• Small Commercial Vehicle (Passenger): ₹52,000 – ₹66,000
• Small Commercial Vehicle & Pickups: ₹30,000 – ₹1.1 lakh
