E.ON Introduces Subscription-Based Truck Charging Model in Europe
E.ON has partnered with Neot and Mitsui to roll out a subscription-based truck charging solution designed to accelerate electric commercial vehicle adoption across Europe. The model aims to remove cost and operational barriers by offering a bundled service that includes infrastructure, energy supply, and management under a single plan.
Fleet operators can now transition to electric mobility without heavy upfront investments, instead paying a recurring tariff that simplifies budgeting and long-term planning.
Subscription model reduces upfront investment
The subscription-based truck charging solution replaces high initial capital expenditure with a predictable payment structure. Customers pay based on a fixed price per kilowatt-hour or a flexible Time-of-Use tariff, allowing better cost control.
This approach helps fleet operators avoid the financial burden of setting up charging infrastructure while still gaining access to high-performance systems.
Integrated services simplify fleet electrification
The package combines Charging-as-a-Service with an optional Truck-as-a-Service model. This means companies can access both charging infrastructure and electric commercial vehicles through a single provider.
By offering a complete solution, the subscription-based truck charging system removes the need for operators to manage procurement, installation, and billing complexities.
Infrastructure and technology tailored to operations
E.ON is responsible for planning, building, and operating the charging infrastructure. Charging stations ranging from 50 to 400 kilowatts are deployed based on fleet requirements and operational conditions.
The system also includes load management and customised electricity tariffs, ensuring efficient energy use and cost optimisation for different usage patterns.
Partnership strengthens financing and expertise
Neot supports the initiative with financing, expertise, and additional services, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for fleet electrification. Mitsui’s involvement further strengthens the financial and strategic backing of the project.
The subscription-based truck charging model provides companies with predictable costs from the first kilometre, along with performance guarantees that enhance operational reliability.
