Spencer India Partners SUMEET SSG For MEMS
In a significant move to upgrade emergency healthcare infrastructure, SUMEET SSG has partnered with Spencer India to supply advanced medical equipment across Maharashtra’s MEMS 108 ambulance network. The collaboration aims to bring globally certified systems into large-scale public emergency services.
The initiative will enhance the quality, safety, and efficiency of pre-hospital care across the state through phased deployment.
Partnership to Upgrade MEMS 108 Ambulance Network
SUMEET SSG announced its collaboration with Spencer India to equip all 1,756 ambulances under the MEMS 108 emergency response system. The rollout will take place over multiple phases, ensuring gradual integration of advanced medical equipment.
The MEMS 108 network operates as a statewide emergency service platform, delivering critical care during medical emergencies. This partnership is expected to significantly strengthen operational capabilities and patient care standards.
European-Standard Equipment for Emergency Care
The partnership will introduce a range of emergency medical equipment certified to European standards. These include advanced stretchers, evacuation systems, immobilisation devices, oxygen delivery systems, and personal protective equipment.
The integration of such globally benchmarked tools is aimed at improving patient handling, safety, and clinical outcomes. The move positions MEMS 108 as one of the first large-scale emergency networks in India to adopt European-standard pre-hospital care systems.
MEMS 108 Operations Under PPP Model
The MEMS 108 service is operated by SUMEET SSG BVG Maharashtra EMS, a joint venture formed in 2024. It includes Sumeet Group, BVG India Ltd., and Spain-based SSG Transporte Sanitario.
The project runs under a 10-year PPP-DBFOT model in partnership with the Government of Maharashtra. This structure supports long-term service delivery, infrastructure development, and operational efficiency in emergency healthcare.
Phased Deployment and Future Impact
The implementation will follow a multi-year phased approach, with initial deployment expected to begin soon. Full integration across all ambulances will take place in subsequent stages.
Industry leaders stated that the collaboration will help create a reliable and standardised emergency care ecosystem. By combining global expertise with local operations, the initiative is expected to improve response quality and strengthen Maharashtra’s emergency medical services network.
