Porter Expands Operations to Eight New Cities Across India
Porter has expanded its operations into eight new cities, marking a significant step in strengthening its presence in Tier-II and Tier-III markets across India. The expansion is aimed at improving goods transport efficiency for MSMEs and small businesses.
The company has launched services in Mysore, Madurai, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Meerut, Agra, Aurangabad, and Thrissur, targeting regions where logistics systems remain largely unorganised and fragmented.
Porter strengthens MSME-focused logistics network
The expansion is designed to address key challenges in regional goods transport, including unreliable availability, high costs, and lack of scalable logistics solutions. By entering these cities, Porter aims to create a more structured and efficient supply chain for small businesses.
The company’s tech-enabled platform focuses on simplifying booking, improving transparency, and enabling faster movement of goods across local and intercity routes.
Phased rollout of vehicle categories planned
In the initial phase, Porter is offering two-wheeler logistics services to meet immediate last-mile delivery needs. The company plans to gradually introduce larger vehicles such as three-wheelers and Tata Ace models in the coming months.
This phased approach is intended to build a scalable logistics ecosystem while adapting to local demand patterns in each city.
Digital platform aims to formalise logistics sector
Porter’s model is built on technology integration, enabling GST-compliant operations and reducing inefficiencies in traditional transport systems. This approach helps small businesses expand their reach beyond local markets while maintaining cost efficiency.
By digitising logistics operations, the company is contributing to the broader formalisation of India’s unorganised transport sector.
Strong driver-partner onboarding and job creation
Porter has onboarded approximately 4,000 driver-partners across the newly added cities. The company expects to generate over 64,000 job opportunities in the first year through its expanded operations.
This growth highlights the platform’s role in creating livelihood opportunities while scaling urban and semi-urban logistics networks.
