Mahindra Reports Strong Cargo Vehicle Sales Growth

Mahindra & Mahindra achieved 15% year-on-year growth in cargo vehicle sales for March 2026, selling 1,086 units. The rise underscores the increasing demand for commercial vehicles in India’s market.

Trucks and Buses Division Total Sales

The Trucks and Buses Division, which includes vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, recorded 4,267 units sold in March 2026, including exports, marking a 13% YoY increase.

Mahindra Trucks & Buses Division Performance

MTBD cargo vehicle sales rose from 946 units in March 2025 to 1,086 units in March 2026, registering a 15% increase, reflecting robust domestic demand.

SML Mahindra Sales Overview

SML Mahindra sold 606 cargo vehicles in March 2026, a 2% increase compared to 594 units a year earlier, showing steady growth across both domestic and international markets.

Combined Cargo Vehicle Growth

Together, MTBD and SML Mahindra sold 1,692 cargo vehicles in March 2026, up from 1,540 units in March 2025, achieving an overall 10% YoY growth across both divisions.

Industry Insights and Outlook

Vinod Sahay, President of Mahindra Trucks, emphasized the sector’s resilience despite global geopolitical tensions and high crude prices. He noted that government projects and replacement demand would support future volumes, though fuel cost volatility and supply chain challenges could affect market sentiment.
