Delhi NCR Toll Hikes Increase Travel Costs April
From April 1, 2026, travel on major highways around Delhi NCR has become more expensive. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased toll rates on the Delhi–Gurgaon Expressway, Dwarka Expressway, and Sohna Highway. The hike affects daily commuters, transporters, and businesses, as travel costs on these busy routes rise significantly.
Reason Behind the Toll Hike
The toll revision is linked to an annual system based on the Wholesale Price Index (WPI). Authorities adjust toll rates every year in line with inflation. This year, the change has impacted several key highways across India, including the busiest corridors connecting Delhi and Gurgaon, affecting thousands of daily travellers.

Impact on Daily Commuters
The toll hike directly affects people commuting daily between Delhi and Gurgaon, increasing their travel expenses. Transport businesses may also pass on the additional costs to customers, raising overall transport and logistics prices in the region. Regular commuters are now advised to plan their travel budgets carefully to accommodate the higher toll charges.
