Cargo Matters Partners With TRYK Charge to Build EV Charging Network
Cargo Matters is investing Rs 66 crore to deploy more than 550 high-speed electric vehicle charging stations across South India, in partnership with TRYK Charge Services LLP. The initiative spans Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, and aims to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility for both commercial fleets and passenger vehicles.
First-of-Its-Kind Charging Infrastructure
The network will include 360 kW DC fast chargers, the first of their kind in South India, along with standard AC charging options. Designed to accept global standards such as CCS2 and CHAdeMO, the stations integrate solar power and smart grid technology to ensure reliability, sustainability, and high uptime for both logistics operators and daily EV users.
Advanced Platform for Seamless Operations
Cargo Matters will operate the stations through a sophisticated Charge Point Operator (CPO) platform. The system provides real-time monitoring, data analytics, and compliance with OCPP 1.6, OCPP 2.1, and OCPI protocols. Existing unmanaged third-party chargers will be onboarded onto the platform to unify the fragmented charging ecosystem, optimize operations, and enable new revenue opportunities for independent operators.
Improving Accessibility for Commercial Fleets
The partnership will set up charging hubs at bus depots, fleet terminals, and key freight corridors. Cargo Matters and TRYK Charge are introducing an RFID-based charging card that allows single-tap access at any station. This ensures seamless operations for logistics fleets, reducing downtime and improving efficiency across the network.
Driving India’s Commercial Electrification
Cargo Matters is addressing one of the biggest challenges in India’s electric logistics sector: reliable infrastructure. Umesh Padala, Founder and Chairman, noted that the obstacle is no longer vehicle availability but the lack of dependable charging points on freight corridors. Kulbhushan Gawande, CEO of TRYK Charge Services, added that the collaboration combines ultra-fast charging technology, platform intelligence, and field execution to create a seamless experience for fleet operators and individual EV drivers.
This ambitious project, funded entirely by Cargo Matters, includes a fully integrated smart grid system, solar-powered stations, ultra-fast 360 kW DC chargers, standard AC chargers, universal charging compatibility, real-time monitoring through the CPO platform, RFID-based single-tap access, fleet-focused depots at key corridors, and the onboarding of third-party chargers to create a unified, scalable EV ecosystem.
