Atul Auto Appoints Dr. K. C. Vora as Independent Director
Atul Auto Limited has announced the appointment of Dr. K. C. Vora as an Additional Director in the capacity of a Non-Executive Independent Director, effective March 15, 2026. The Board of Directors approved the decision on March 14, 2026, following a recommendation from the company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The appointment will be subject to shareholder approval under applicable regulations and will have a tenure of three years.
Vast Automotive Expertise
Dr. Vora currently serves as Program Director – Automotive Centre of Excellence at NAMTECH, located at the research park of Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar. He brings over four decades of experience spanning the automotive industry and academic research. His career includes senior roles at organisations such as Walchandnagar Industries, Emitec, Mahindra & Mahindra, and the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), where he served as Senior Deputy Director and Head of the ARAI Academy until retiring in 2021.
Contributions to Skills and Innovation
Dr. Vora has made significant contributions to automotive education, research, and skill development:
- Consultant and Chair of the Expert Group for Electric Vehicles at the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC)
- Authored more than 120 technical papers and four books
- Holds four patents in automotive technology
- Engaged with BAJA SAEINDIA for over 20 years, mentoring student engineers and supporting automotive education initiatives
Academic Background and Strategic Role
Dr. Vora holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya, a Master’s in Automotive Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, and a Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. His appointment aligns with Atul Auto’s efforts to strengthen governance and expand its presence in the three-wheeler and alternative mobility segments, including electric vehicles.
