Uttar Pradesh Begins Six-Lane Link Expressway Land Acquisition
The Uttar Pradesh government has begun the process of acquiring land for a new six-lane link expressway connecting the Ganga and Yamuna Expressways in Greater Noida. The 74.3-kilometre corridor is part of a larger Rs 4,000 crore project, with Rs 1,204 crore sanctioned for the initial phase. Authorities say the project will enhance regional mobility and provide improved access to the Noida International Airport.
Route and Design Features
The expressway will start at the 44.3-kilometre point of the Ganga Expressway in Siana, Bulandshahr, and meet the Yamuna Expressway at the 24.8-kilometre point near Sector-21 Film City. Designed to be 120 metres wide, the road will feature six lanes and include a 9-kilometre elevated stretch within the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region.
Around 20 kilometres of the expressway will pass through the YEIDA jurisdiction, allowing the route to integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure. Planners say the six-lane design will accommodate heavy traffic, including cargo transport, and reduce travel times for commuters and businesses alike.

Land Acquisition Across Villages
YEIDA will acquire nearly 740 acres of land spread across 16 villages, including Mehendipur Bangar, Bhai Pur Brahman, Rabupura, Bhunnatga, Myana, Fazilpur, and Kallupura. Once acquired, the land will be handed over to the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), which will handle construction.
The entire link road will pass through 56 villages, including eight in Gautam Buddha Nagar and 48 in Bulandshahr. Authorities say the project will strengthen the functional value of the Ganga Expressway while improving connectivity for local residents.
Regional Connectivity and Airport Access
Officials highlight that the expressway will provide a direct corridor between the Ganga and Yamuna Expressways, reducing travel time for passengers and cargo. The project is also expected to enhance access to the Noida International Airport, boosting economic activity and regional trade.
Local residents and businesses stand to gain from faster travel, reduced congestion, and easier movement of goods and people, with the expressway poised to act as a strategic infrastructure link for the region.
Authority Statement
“Link Expressway’s land survey has been completed and details submitted to the government. YEIDA will complete the acquisition process and hand over the land to UPEIDA, which will oversee construction,” said R.K. Singh, CEO of YEIDA.
With land acquisition now underway, the six-lane link expressway is set to become a key infrastructure milestone for Uttar Pradesh, connecting major expressways and supporting future regional development.
