TSUYO Introduces Next-Generation EV Motor And Drivetrain Portfolio

TSUYO Manufacturing has unveiled a new portfolio of motor and drivetrain technologies, aimed at strengthening India’s electric three-wheeler and light commercial vehicle (LCV) markets. The new offerings include the Gen 3.0 Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor and controller architecture, India’s first Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) system for EV 3-wheelers, and a patented magnet-less synchronous reluctance motor for enhanced localisation.

Gen 3.0 IPM Motor And Advanced Controller

The Gen 3.0 IPM motor and its enhanced controller are designed for better heat management, longer life, and easier maintenance. The controller leverages advanced MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors) technology, enabling higher performance for EV applications. TSUYO claims this system supports more demanding operational conditions while maintaining efficiency.

TSUYO has introduced what it describes as India’s first AMT solution for electric three-wheelers. By improving gradeability, load-carrying capacity, and vehicle range, the technology allows lower-power motors to operate effectively even under challenging conditions. This innovation is expected to boost operational efficiency for commercial EV fleets.

Magnet-Less Motor And Flat Tube Axle For L3, Mini-L5 Vehicles

In line with the Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative, TSUYO unveiled a magnet-less synchronous reluctance motor to reduce dependency on imported rare-earth minerals. For L3 and Mini-L5 electric vehicles, the company has also adopted a flat tube axle with a common gear interface. This innovation increases load capacity and simplifies parts management, streamlining maintenance and production processes.
