JBM Electric Buses Cross 3,000 Fleet Mark in India
India’s electric mobility landscape received a significant boost as JBM Ecolife Pvt. Ltd. expanded operations in Delhi and Gandhinagar, crossing 3,000 electric buses nationwide.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated 103 new nine-metre low-floor air-conditioned electric buses, bringing the capital’s JBM fleet close to 1,000 units. The new buses aim to provide comfortable and eco-friendly transportation while supporting Delhi’s clean mobility goals.
100-Bus Agreement Strengthens Gandhinagar Operations
Under the PM e-Bus Sewa initiative, JBM signed a 100-bus agreement with the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. The first phase will see 40 buses delivered by the end of the 2025–26 financial year. Once fully deployed, the Gujarat fleet is expected to reach approximately 500 electric buses, significantly expanding JBM’s presence in western India.
The new buses feature modern urban transport amenities, including CCTV cameras, automatic doors, accessibility options for senior citizens, and facilities for differently-abled passengers. Dedicated depots and charging infrastructure are also being developed to support smooth operations.
Strong Operational Track Record
Over the past five years, JBM’s electric buses have demonstrated strong performance:
- Covered over 300 million kilometres
- Transported more than one billion passengers
- Reduced over one billion kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions
These figures highlight the growing acceptance of electric buses in India’s public transport network and their environmental benefits.
