Tata AutoComp Expands Sanand With Two Plants

Expanding Manufacturing Footprint in Gujarat
Tata AutoComp Systems Limited has inaugurated two new manufacturing plants in Sanand, Gujarat, further expanding its automotive component production capabilities. Officially opened on January 30, 2026, the new facilities will focus on producing seating systems and thermal solutions for vehicles, strengthening the company’s supply to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and supporting export operations.

The plants are operated by two distinct business units: TM Automotive Seating Systems Private Limited and TACO Air International Thermal Systems Private Limited. With this addition, Tata AutoComp now manages over eight plants in the Sanand region, consolidating its position as a key supplier to the Indian automotive industry.

Supporting OEMs and Export Operations
The Sanand location provides Tata AutoComp proximity to customers, a robust vendor ecosystem, and strategic advantages in logistics and operations. The inauguration ceremonies were attended by senior executives from Tata Motors and Tata AutoComp, including Sudhir Chikhle, Chief Purchasing Officer for passenger and electric vehicles at Tata Motors, and Manoj Kolhatkar, Managing Director and CEO of Tata AutoComp Systems.

Arvind Goel, Vice-Chairman of Tata AutoComp, highlighted the strategic importance of the Sanand expansion: “This location not only brings us closer to our customers but also provides access to a mature vendor ecosystem. We plan to establish additional plants across India in 2026 to support next-generation mobility platforms.”

Focus on Next-Generation Mobility
Kolhatkar emphasized that the new plants are designed to cater to evolving mobility solutions in India, including electric and alternative energy vehicles. “As we expand manufacturing capacity, our priorities remain people, quality, safety, and the environment,” he said, underlining Tata AutoComp’s commitment to responsible and sustainable growth.

Chikhle praised Tata AutoComp’s customer-centric approach, calling the company a “valued partner” that supports Tata Motors across its programs and ensures consistent delivery of high-quality components.

TACO Air International Thermal Systems: Thermal Solutions for EVs
TACO Air International Thermal Systems, a joint venture between Tata AutoComp Systems and Air International Thermal Systems, manufactures HVAC systems, battery thermal management systems, and compressors.
