Tata Signa 4425.T Launched With 44,000 Kg GVW
Tata Motors has strengthened its heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) portfolio with the launch of the Tata Signa 4425.T, a high-capacity truck designed for long-haul logistics and demanding transportation operations. With a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 44,000 kg, the truck is engineered to maximise uptime, efficiency, and reliability for fleet operators and transport businesses. Positioned as a robust and technology-driven offering, the Signa 4425.T is built to handle heavy loads across varied terrains while ensuring driver comfort, safety, and operational efficiency.
Powertrain Built for Heavy Load Performance
At the heart of the Tata Signa 4425.T is a 6.7-litre Cummins diesel engine, a proven powerplant known for durability and performance. Customers can choose between a 6-speed or 9-speed manual gearbox, depending on their operational requirements. This powertrain setup delivers 250 horsepower and a peak torque of 950 Nm, enabling the truck to haul heavy loads with ease, even on steep inclines and flyovers.
The engine is designed to maintain thermal efficiency under high-speed highway conditions, ensuring optimal heat dissipation and reducing stress on the powertrain. This makes the Signa 4425.T well-suited for long-distance freight movement, where consistent performance and fuel efficiency are critical.
Suspension System Designed for Stability and Durability
Tata Motors has equipped the Signa 4425.T with a high-stress bearing suspension system that has been tested for reliability under heavy-load conditions. The truck features parabolic leaf springs at the front and a bell crank suspension system at the rear.
The parabolic leaf springs, with their tapered design, offer better shock absorption and improved ride quality, while the bell crank suspension enhances load distribution and vehicle stability. This combination ensures that the truck can carry heavy cargo while maintaining balance and structural integrity, even on uneven road surfaces.
Safety Features and Load Body Strength
Safety has been a key focus in the design of the Signa 4425.T. The truck comes with a high-strength chassis and load body to enhance protection in case of collisions. It is equipped with an engine brake system for better control on downhill slopes, radial tyres with effective heat management, and hill start assist to prevent rollback during starts on inclines. These features collectively improve driver confidence and vehicle control under challenging driving conditions.
Multiple Deck Lengths for Diverse Applications
To cater to different business needs, Tata Motors offers the Signa 4425.T in four deck length options—24 ft, 28 ft, 30 ft, and 32 ft. These configurations make the truck suitable for container transport, industrial goods movement, agricultural produce haulage, and tanker applications. This flexibility allows fleet owners to choose a variant that best aligns with their operational and profitability goals.
Fuel Efficiency and High Uptime Capability
The Signa 4425.T comes with fuel economy (FE) drive modes that can be adjusted based on terrain and load conditions. The Auto FE switch further optimises efficiency across different operating cycles, ensuring better mileage without compromising performance.
Additionally, the truck is fitted with a 365-litre diesel fuel tank, enabling longer trips with fewer refuelling stops. Combined with its fuel-efficient design and 29.4 per cent gradeability, the Signa 4425.T is well-equipped to tackle steep roads and demanding routes with ease.
A Strategic Investment for Fleet Operators
With wider 295/90 R20 radial tyres, the Signa 4425.T offers enhanced stability under heavy loads. Tata Motors also backs the vehicle with its extensive 3S (sales, service, and spare parts) network, ensuring quick service turnaround and minimal downtime.
Overall, the Tata Signa 4425.T emerges as a reliable, high-performance, and fuel-efficient heavy-duty truck, making it a strong contender for transport businesses looking to upgrade their fleet in 2026.
