Eicher Trucks Sales Surge 39 Percent January

Eicher Motors Reports 39.47% Domestic Sales Growth in January 2026

Eicher Motors’ commercial vehicle division, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), posted a strong domestic sales growth of 39.47% in January 2026, selling 8,081 trucks compared to 5,794 units in January 2025. The performance spans small, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, reflecting a robust start to the year in India’s logistics and transport sector.

SCV and LMD Trucks Lead Domestic Growth

Sales of small commercial vehicles (SCV) and light-medium duty (LMD) trucks surged 42.6% YoY, rising from 3,787 units in January 2025 to 5,401 units in January 2026. These trucks, including the Eicher Pro X series in diesel and electric variants, are popular for e-commerce, courier, FMCG, cold chain, and parcel delivery services.

The Pro X trucks are available in two GVW options—3.49 tonnes and 2.995 tonnes—offering versatility for intra-city and regional logistics operations.

Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Also Rise

Heavy-duty (HD) truck sales grew 33.5% YoY, from 2,007 units in January 2025 to 2,680 units this year. These vehicles are designed for long-distance freight, industrial supply chains, and infrastructure projects. Export HD truck sales increased 47.7% YoY, highlighting global demand for Eicher’s heavy commercial vehicles.

Exports Contribute to Overall Growth

VECV’s shipments to foreign markets jumped from 450 units in January 2025 to 701 units in January 2026, a 55.8% YoY increase, reflecting the brand’s expanding international footprint. Overall, VECV achieved 10,601 total sales, combining domestic and export figures, a 24.9% rise YoY.

Strategic Market Impact

The strong growth is attributed to several factors:

  • Expanding logistics demand in India, including courier, e-commerce, and cold chain sectors.
  • Fleet modernisation with operators upgrading to fuel-efficient and low-maintenance trucks.
  • Growing acceptance of electric commercial vehicles, supported by Pro X EV series.
  • Increased infrastructure and industrial activity driving demand for heavy-duty trucks.

Outlook for 2026

Eicher Motors’ strong start in January 2026 positions it well to continue capturing growth in domestic and international commercial vehicle markets. With innovative products, expanding exports, and electric vehicle adoption, Eicher is set to maintain momentum throughout the year in India’s rapidly evolving logistics and transportation ecosystem.
