Bajaj Leads India 3-Wheeler Sales December 2025
India’s three-wheeler segment continued its growth momentum in December 2025, with Bajaj Auto retaining its leadership position, according to the latest retail sales data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). The industry recorded total retail sales of 1,27,772 units during the month, marking a strong year-on-year growth of 36.10%, although sales slipped marginally by 4.61% compared to November 2025.
Bajaj Auto emerged as the top-performing brand, selling 35,208 three-wheelers in December 2025. This translated into a market share of 27.56%, despite being lower than the 30.89% share recorded in December 2024. The company posted a 21.43% year-on-year increase in sales, reinforcing its dominance over competitors, with a significant gap of nearly 21 percentage points over the second-ranked brand.
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility reported robust growth during the month, registering a 41.10% increase in retail sales year-on-year. Sales rose from 6,152 units in December 2024 to 8,681 units in December 2025. The brand’s market share improved to 6.79% from 6.55% a year earlier, reflecting steady demand across its three-wheeler portfolio.
Piaggio also posted positive growth, with retail sales rising 16.46% year-on-year to 7,534 units in December 2025. However, its market share declined slightly to 5.90% from 6.89% last year. In contrast, TVS Motor Company witnessed a sharp surge in demand, selling 5,085 units, a 166.37% jump compared to December 2024.
Among emerging players, Indo Wagen, under Zeniak Innovation India, recorded one of the fastest growth rates in the segment. The company sold 4,070 units in December 2025, registering a 301.77% year-on-year increase. Its market share expanded significantly to 3.19%. Meanwhile, YC Electric Vehicles saw a decline in sales, with volumes falling 22.15% year-on-year to 2,958 units, resulting in a reduced market share of 2.32%.
Hooghly Motors also made notable gains, reporting a 494.79% rise in retail sales to 2,742 units, overtaking Atul Auto, which sold 2,673 units after posting a 19.75% annual growth.
Other manufacturers, including Dilli Electric Auto, Aahana Commerce, Saera Electric Auto, Fede Industries, Jajodia Commodities, Terra Motors, and Vani Electric Vehicles, each held less than 2% market share in December 2025. Collectively, these remaining brands sold 46,221 units, significantly higher than the 36,691 units recorded in December 2024.
Overall, FADA’s December 2025 report highlights a broad-based recovery in the Indian three-wheeler market, driven by strong year-on-year demand across established and emerging players, even as short-term monthly fluctuations persist.
