Lucknow Launches Double-Decker EV Bus For Tourists
The UP State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) launched a double-decker electric bus, named Lucknow Darshan, on January 7, offering a unique way for tourists and residents to explore the city’s heritage sites. The new bus service highlights Lucknow’s rich Nawabi culture, iconic architecture, and bustling markets, while promoting eco-friendly travel within the city.
Capacity, Timing, and Route
The Lucknow Darshan bus has two decks and can accommodate up to 66 passengers. It operates in two daily slots:
- Morning: 8:30 am – 11:30 am
- Evening: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
The bus starts from 1090 Chauraha and covers major attractions including:
- Vidhan Sabha Bhavan
- The Residency
- UP Darshan Park
- Hazratganj
- Raj Bhavan
- Gomti Riverfront
- Chattar Manzil
- Begum Hazrat Mahal Park
The service also includes 40-minute stops at The Residency and Vidhan Sabha, allowing tourists to explore these landmarks.
Note: The bus route does not cover the old city areas, including Bada Imambara, Rumi Gate, and Hussainabad Clock Tower.
Ticket Prices
- Adults: ₹500
- Children (5–12 years): ₹400
- Children below 5 years: Free
Additionally, the UPSTDC is offering discounts on tickets until January 31, encouraging both residents and tourists to experience the new service.
