Major Electric Cargo Three-Wheelers That Defined India 2025
As 2025 draws to a close, India’s electric cargo three-wheeler segment stands out as one of the fastest-evolving spaces in commercial mobility. The year witnessed a surge in product launches as manufacturers raced to tap into the booming demand for cleaner, cost-efficient last-mile transport. This momentum is reflected in sales data too, with electric three-wheelers clocking nearly 7,09,000 retail units between January and November 2025, raising their market share to 60 percent from 56 percent a year earlier.
With close to 600 three-wheeler brands competing nationwide, electrification emerged as a common strategy to strengthen cargo mobility across urban and semi-urban India. Several original equipment manufacturers introduced new electric cargo models in 2025, each focusing on higher payloads, longer range and improved technology.
Bajaj Auto marked its entry into the L3 electric cargo segment with the launch of the Riki C4005 e-cart. Built on a monocoque chassis, the cargo variant claims a certified range of 164 km and supports fast charging, enabling a full charge in around four hours. Designed for higher earning potential, the model features a large cargo tray measuring 1,400 mm by 920 mm and offers 28 percent gradeability. Bajaj priced the Riki C4005 at Rs 2,00,876 (ex-showroom).
TVS Motor added a technology-led option to the segment with the King Kargo HD EV. Positioned at an introductory price of Rs 3.85 lakh, it offers a 6.6-foot cargo deck and a low loading height of 703 mm for easier handling. The model became India’s first Bluetooth-enabled cargo three-wheeler, equipped with TVS SmartXonnect and 26 smart features aimed at fleet owners. Segment-first additions such as LED lighting, Power Gear Mode and a fully enclosed, ventilated cabin further differentiate the offering.
Montra Electric showcased its Super Cargo at Auto Expo 2025, highlighting range and durability as key strengths. Powered by a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, it delivers a claimed on-road range of 170 km and comes with a battery warranty of five years or 1.75 lakh km. The vehicle offers multiple cargo body options, fast-charging variants and is priced from Rs 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom).
Youdha expanded its cargo portfolio with the Trevo electric three-wheeler, offering flexibility through permanent and swappable battery options. With a certified range of up to 150 km and prices ranging between Rs 4.35 lakh and Rs 4.75 lakh, the model targets reliable city-based logistics with enclosed cabin comfort.
Adding a futuristic dimension, Omega Seiki Mobility introduced the Swayamgati Cargo, India’s first autonomous electric cargo three-wheeler. Built for controlled environments like campuses, airports and industrial hubs, it integrates LiDAR, AI-based obstacle detection and remote fleet management. The autonomous model is priced from Rs 4.15 lakh.
Overall, 2025 proved to be a defining year for electric cargo three-wheelers in India. While the segment remains largely unorganised, these launches signal a clear shift toward structured, technology-driven and commercially viable electric mobility solutions.
