Mahindra Domestic CV, Three-Wheeler Sales Surge December 2025
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) delivered a strong close to calendar year 2025, reporting solid growth in its domestic commercial vehicle (CV) and three-wheeler business. In December 2025, the automaker recorded total domestic sales of 32,324 units across CV and 3-wheeler segments, reflecting a sharp 33 percent year-on-year increase compared to 24,298 units sold in December 2024.
The growth was largely driven by robust demand in the light commercial vehicle space and rising adoption of three-wheelers, including electric variants. Mahindra’s performance highlights improving cargo movement, expanding last-mile delivery needs, and steady traction for cost-efficient mobility solutions across urban and semi-urban markets.
Among individual segments, the LCV category between 2 tonnes and 3.5 tonnes emerged as the strongest performer during the month. Mahindra sold 22,066 units in this segment, registering a notable 37 percent growth over the previous year’s figure of 16,139 units. The sustained demand for mid-range cargo vehicles used in logistics, distribution, and small fleet operations played a key role in this expansion.
The LCV segment below 2 tonnes also reported positive growth, albeit at a more moderate pace. Sales in this category stood at 2,720 units in December 2025, up 13 percent from 2,409 units in December 2024. Continued usage of compact commercial vehicles for last-mile delivery, urban trade, and small business operations supported volumes in this segment.
Mahindra’s three-wheeler business maintained strong momentum during the month. Total domestic three-wheeler sales, including electric models, rose to 7,538 units, marking a 31 percent year-on-year increase compared to 5,750 units sold in December 2024. The growth reflects increasing acceptance of three-wheelers for both passenger and cargo applications, along with growing interest in electric mobility solutions due to lower operating costs.
While domestic performance remained strong, Mahindra’s export volumes witnessed a temporary slowdown. The company exported 2,820 units in December 2025, down 9 percent from 3,092 units in the same month last year. The decline was attributed to softer demand conditions in select international markets during the period.
Overall, Mahindra’s December 2025 sales numbers underline the company’s strengthening position in India’s commercial vehicle and last-mile mobility segments. Strong domestic demand for light commercial vehicles and three-wheelers continues to offset short-term fluctuations in exports. With rising logistics activity and gradual adoption of electric vehicles, Mahindra remains well-positioned to sustain growth in the commercial mobility space going forward.
It is worth noting that Mahindra’s total vehicle sales for the month stood at 86,090 units, including SUVs, light commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, and exports. The figures also include volumes from Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited and Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, reflecting the group’s broad automotive portfolio.
