TIL Marks 400th ReachStacker, Boosts India’s Manufacturing
TIL Limited has reached a major milestone in India’s material-handling equipment landscape with the rollout of its 400th Hyster-TIL ReachStacker from its advanced manufacturing facility in Kharagpur. The achievement underscores not only the company’s expanding manufacturing strength but also India’s growing influence as a reliable global production hub for heavy-duty industrial solutions.
The landmark unit marks 14 years since TIL began producing ReachStackers in 2010. What started with just three machines in its first year has evolved into robust annual output, touching more than 50 units between 2016 and 2019. Building on this momentum, the company now aims to surpass the 50-unit mark again in the coming fiscal year, backed by the latest technological enhancements and strengthened production systems.
TIL’s newest ReachStacker integrates a range of upgraded features, including an ergonomically engineered cabin paired with intelligent monitoring systems that deliver live operating data to enhance efficiency and safety. The Kharagpur plant—equipped with cutting-edge CNC machinery and India’s only dedicated ReachStacker testing track—also follows stringent quality control processes such as GPS-enabled braking checks and extensive load testing to ensure global-standard reliability.
Commenting on the accomplishment, Alok Kumar Tripathi, President of TIL Limited, said that the rollout reaffirms the company’s manufacturing excellence and the growing confidence in Indian-made equipment. He added that TIL’s expanding footprint in export markets—including Southeast Asia, Australia, and other global regions—demonstrates the worldwide acceptability of its engineering quality and innovative design.
Elaborating on the technical strengths of the new unit, Pinaki Niyogy, Chief Operating Officer & Chief Technology Officer, highlighted that the 400th machine, the Hyster-TIL RS46-33 ReachStacker, features a 46-ton lifting capacity along with TIL’s integrated IoT ecosystem for real-time performance analytics. Its newly designed cabin offers all-around visibility, and the machine’s ECO-mode operations deliver significant fuel savings—an increasingly critical requirement for global port and logistics operators seeking sustainable, resource-efficient equipment. Niyogy also emphasized that TIL’s equipment offers superior stability compared to several competing models in the marketplace.
Adding to the remarks, Rajesh Wazarkar, VP and Managing Director for India Operations at Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc., said the 14-year collaboration between the two companies has created a strong foundation for industry-leading manufacturing practices. He reaffirmed Hyster-Yale’s continued commitment to co-developing future-ready equipment in India and expanding the technological capabilities of ReachStackers and forklift truck solutions.
Over the years, TIL’s ReachStackers have built a solid international presence, with more than 40 units exported to markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and other regions.
Founded in 1944 and headquartered in Kolkata, TIL Limited remains one of India’s most established manufacturers of material handling and infrastructure equipment. With two advanced production facilities, extensive R&D capabilities, and ISO 9001:2015 certification, the company continues to support sectors ranging from construction and mining to defence—strengthening India’s industrial growth story for more than eight decades.
