Carraro India Secures Rs 17.5 Crore Deal for E-Transaxle Development in Electric Tractors
Carraro India Limited has signed a significant engineering services contract worth Rs 17.5 crore with TI Clean Mobility Private Ltd – Montra Electric to develop and industrialize E-Transaxles for electric-powered agricultural tractors. The agreement, executed on October 14, 2025, marks a strategic step for Carraro India as it strengthens its position as a key technology supplier in the Indian tractor sector.
Under the contract, Carraro India will conduct a comprehensive feasibility study before moving into the industrialization phase for the E-Transaxles, with the project slated for completion by March 2027. Timelines may be adjusted based on customer approvals and testing outcomes. The agreement is strictly with a domestic entity and does not involve any promoter or group company interests.
Dr. Balaji Gopalan, Managing Director of Carraro India, highlighted the significance of this contract, stating that the E-Transaxle technology is expected to enhance tractor efficiency while supporting sustainability initiatives. He further noted that the technology will be integrated into Carraro India’s product portfolio following successful industrialization.
Founded in 1997, Carraro India Limited is a Tier-I supplier specializing in axles, transmission systems, gears, and related engineering solutions for original equipment manufacturers. Operating two advanced manufacturing facilities in Pune, the company offers end-to-end capabilities, including casting, machining, assembly, prototyping, testing, and painting.
