Omega Seiki Launches India’s First Production-Ready Autonomous Electric Three-Wheeler
Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has unveiled Swayamgati, the world’s first production-ready autonomous electric three-wheeler, marking a major milestone in India’s EV and autonomous mobility landscape. The vehicle is priced at ₹4 lakh for the passenger variant, with a cargo model expected soon at ₹4.15 lakh. Commercial bookings are now open, and rollout has already begun.
The autonomous EV features a battery-powered range of up to 120 km per charge and combines OSM’s electric platform with an AI-driven autonomy stack. Equipped with Lidar, GPS, multi-sensor navigation, AI-based obstacle detection up to 6 meters, and remote safety controls, Swayamgati is designed for structured environments such as airports, smart campuses, industrial hubs, and dense urban spaces.
Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of OSM, stated, “The launch of Swayamgati is a bold step into the future of Indian transportation. Autonomous vehicles are no longer futuristic—they are a present-day necessity for sustainable and scalable mobility. This vehicle proves that cutting-edge tech like AI and Lidar can be made in India, for India, at an accessible price point.”
Vivek Dhawan, Chief Strategy Officer at OSM, highlighted the company’s vision: “Swayamgati democratizes autonomy, enabling intelligent systems in everyday mobility and overcoming traditional EV adoption barriers.”
The vehicle has successfully completed Phase 1 testing on a 3-km autonomous route with seven stops, demonstrating real-time obstacle detection and safe passenger movement without human intervention. Phase 2 involves commercial deployment in controlled environments. Unlike global premium autonomous vehicles, Swayamgati is purpose-built for Indian conditions, operating efficiently in high-density, low-speed traffic and diverse terrains.
As a fully electric vehicle, it produces zero tailpipe emissions and offers lower operational costs, supporting India’s sustainability goals. OSM currently manufactures electric three-wheelers and commercial vehicles and is developing compressed natural gas-powered vehicles and electric two-wheelers.
With production targets of 1,500 autonomous vehicles over the next two years, OSM leverages its manufacturing facilities in Faridabad, Chakan (Pune), and an international assembly plant in Dubai’s Jafza. Its extensive network of over 200 dealerships and service centers supports rapid scaling across India and emerging markets in Asia and Africa.
Swayamgati’s launch positions Omega Seiki at the forefront of India’s autonomous EV revolution, combining innovation, accessibility, and sustainability in one purpose-built platform.
