ChargeZone Acquires Fresh Bus Charging Network to Power India’s EV Future

India’s transition to clean mobility just gained a major boost. ChargeZone, the country’s largest EV charging network, has acquired the entire charging station infrastructure of Fresh Bus, an all-electric intercity bus operator. The move is set to strengthen ChargeZone’s presence in southern India while accelerating the growth of nationwide supercharging infrastructure for long-distance electric travel.

Expanding EV Charging in Southern India

Through this acquisition, ChargeZone gains strategically located charging hubs in key cities such as Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Mysore, Tirupati, Guntur, and Visakhapatnam. These high-traffic routes are vital for intercity bus services and will now play a central role in powering India’s growing fleet of electric buses.

Fresh Bus, which operates premium all-electric intercity services, plans to expand its fleet to more than 5,000 buses over the next five years. With access to ChargeZone’s advanced charging network, the company can ensure uninterrupted operations while offering passengers a reliable zero-emission travel experience.

Partnership Benefits for Both Sides

The collaboration ensures priority access for Fresh Bus at these charging points, while the facilities will remain open to other EV fleets as well—improving overall utilization. Additionally, ChargeZone and Fresh Bus plan to integrate renewable energy at charging stations in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Vijayawada, reinforcing their commitment to sustainable mobility.

Speaking on the development, ChargeZone founder and CEO Kartikey Hariyani said the partnership marks an important step toward creating India’s largest intercity supercharging network for electric buses. He stressed the importance of building reliable, accessible infrastructure that can support long-distance travel and the broader EV ecosystem.

Fresh Bus founder Sudhakar Reddy added that working with ChargeZone since 2023 has already improved operational efficiency. With dedicated management and surveillance of charging stations, the company expects even smoother operations going forward.

Building a Robust EV Ecosystem

ChargeZone is already a dominant player, operating over 13,500 charging points across 1,200 locations in India and the UAE. With an ambitious goal to set up one million charging points, the company is playing a critical role in meeting India’s clean mobility targets.

Meanwhile, Fresh Bus has positioned itself as a pioneer in sustainable intercity travel. Offering air-conditioned cabins, real-time tracking, and enhanced safety features, it caters to passengers seeking comfort along with zero-emission journeys.

Driving India’s EV Future

This acquisition goes beyond business—it represents a larger vision of transforming India’s public transport and commercial EV infrastructure. With government policies already encouraging electric adoption through incentives and mandates, partnerships like this will be crucial in building confidence among operators and passengers alike.

As India continues its shift towards green mobility, ChargeZone and Fresh Bus are together paving the way for a future where long-distance travel is not only convenient and affordable but also clean and sustainable.
