Tata Motors Unveils Winger Plus, Eyes Premium Staff and Tourism Transport

Tata Motors has rolled out the all-new Winger Plus, a 9-seater van designed for premium passenger mobility in the staff transportation and tourism segments. Priced at ₹20.60 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the model aims to combine comfort and connectivity with fleet efficiency.

The Winger Plus introduces features usually associated with high-end travel: reclining captain seats with armrests, personal USB ports, AC vents for every passenger, and expanded legroom. Its wide cabin and large luggage space cater to long-distance comfort, while a monocoque chassis ensures greater stability and ride quality.

Under the hood, Tata has equipped the van with its 2.2-litre Dicor diesel engine producing 100 hp and 200 Nm torque. Operators also gain access to Tata’s Fleet Edge connected telematics platform, offering real-time diagnostics, tracking and route optimisation.

“The Winger Plus is built to set benchmarks in passenger comfort, efficiency and profitability, while also ensuring the lowest total cost of ownership,” said Anand S, Vice President and Head of the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business at Tata Motors. He pointed to rising demand from urban staff transport operators and India’s expanding travel industry as key growth drivers.

The launch highlights Tata Motors’ broader focus on passenger mobility, with its portfolio spanning 9-seater vans to 55-seater buses, offered in both diesel and alternative fuel options. Its “Sampoorna Seva 2.0” programme covers annual maintenance contracts, assured turnaround times, and 24/7 breakdown assistance, supported by a 4,500-strong sales and service network.

Part of the $180 billion Tata Group, Tata Motors remains India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, while also strengthening its global presence across the UK, South Korea, Thailand and Indonesia. Alongside its electric mobility push, the company continues to invest in advanced ICE vehicles like the Winger Plus to capture emerging demand in both domestic and overseas markets.
